Dr. Elliot Blumenstein, Psy.D.
Pediatric Neuropsychologist
In 1992 I earned a Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) degree in Clinical Psychology with a specialization in Neuropsychology from Widener University’s Institute for Graduate Clinical Psychology (after having completed a pre-doctoral Internship at Magee Rehabilitaiton Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania). From 1992 to 1994 I subsequently served as a Pediatric Neuropsychology Post Doctoral Fellow in affiliation with Columbus Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio under the supervision of Keith Owen Yeates, Ph.D., ABPP-Cn. During that time I also held a Clinical Instructorship through the Ohio State University College of Medicine’s Department of Pediatrics.
The majority of my practice time is committed to the provision of comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations of children, adolescents, and young adults designed to clarify their cognitive, pre-academic/academic, and social-emotional functioning.
How I Can Help You
Neuropsychological Evaluation
Comprehensive and partial neuropsychological evaluations are offered.
Psycho-Educational Evaluation
includes an assessment of both intellectual abilities and academic achievement as well as a screening of social, emotional and behavioral adjustments.
Admissions Evaluation
Administration of the appropriate Wechsler Intelligence Scale (i.e., WISC-V or WPPSI-IV) based on the student’s age. Includes an assessment of intellectual abilities and/or academic achievement.
Psychotherapy
Individual, Group, and Family therapy is offered.
Parent Consultation
Consultation with parents — and sometimes their children — is offered in order to help make decisions regarding their child/children.
Expert Testimony
Expert testimony can be provided for legal cases and at court hearings, special education hearings, administrative reviews, and other school meetings.
School Guidance
After the diagnostic process, I frequently counsel families regarding school options (private or public) and school placement, as well as the public schools coding and due process procedures.
